A Tribute to Sean Boyer

Writing this isn’t easy.

Sean Boyer joined our Apparel and Graphics team in 2017, and from the very beginning, it was clear he was something special. He came to us after a few interviews, and through the recommendation of another new hire. The process moved quickly—but it didn’t take long at all to know we’d made the right decision. Within a week or two, Sean felt like the perfect fit.

Yes, he had impressive skills. But what really set Sean apart was the attitude and mentality he brought with him every day. He made the team better—not just through his talent, but through who he was. And that’s where something even more meaningful began: a great friendship.

Sean was compassionate and caring. He had a sense of humor that could change the tone of your entire day. He was the kind of person you wanted around—steady, thoughtful, and genuinely good. Over time, we built a bond that I will always cherish, and one I miss deeply.

Sean was hired as a designer, but it didn’t take long for him to become our creative lead. He inspired us with his ideas, his eye, and his ability to see what something could be before anyone else did. But even more than that, he was my friend—and a friend to so many on the team.

He was someone you could count on. Someone you could trust. If you needed help with work, Sean was there. If you needed help with life, Sean was there, too. He was a true artist—gifted across multiple skills and several creative areas.

One of the most impressive things I ever saw Sean create was his self-portrait. It was made from tiny dots—small, deliberate marks—and when you stepped back, it became a portrait of him. It wasn’t computer-generated. It was Sean-generated. It was the kind of piece that stopped you in your tracks and reminded you just how rare true talent is.

Sean, my friend—you are missed more than I think you could have ever imagined. Until we meet again, thank you for being who you were. Thank you for your creativity, your kindness, your humor, and your friendship.

You were an inspiration to everyone who had the privilege of knowing you.
