Pricing Groups - When and how to use them
Pricing groups allow us to do many things. One of the things is to apply certain pricing for certain customers automatically. Please keep in mind that while we are still getting things set up we want to double-check pricing that it is coming out correctly.
Another feature is to be able to run reports better. A good example is we have paid SO's yet the dollar amount is $0.00 well this can be a problem for two reasons. One did we forget to charge the client the right amount, or was this a promotional sale that the client is not to be charged? For promotional items that would have a heavy discount or no charge at all, we want to make sure to use the promotional pricing strategy and then apply the correct discounts.
We currently have wholesale pricing, normal pricing, Becks, Bailey, in between stores, and promotional pricing. We will soon be reworking this to normal, wholesale, in between stores, damaged, two other terms for customer levels. I want to try and distinguish our customers in these categories we could add a third one if necessary. However with the rising cost of everything we want to make sure we are competitive yet getting a profit for the store as well.
